English for Accountants FAQ's

How is the English for Accountants Core Program structured?

The core program consists of ten sessions with me with three to four hours of guided self-study in between. For optimal results, I recommend that you have one session per week with me. However, you must complete the program within 12 weeks. You are expected to complete all the work before each session.

How long will it take me to complete the Interview Coaching Program?

This will depend on whether you have an interview coming up or not. If you have an interview soon then you will need to complete your six sessions before your interview. The maximum you can take is 7 weeks. 

What materials do I get?

When do I have my sessions? Do you do evenings and weekends?

I have available time slots during working hours, in the evenings  as well as a few on Sundays (although these are very popular)
You will book your sessions through my booking site. This way you can choose times that suit you.

What's the difference between the core programs and bespoke sessions?

What if I can’t come to a session?

The core program is a set syllabus that I have spent 100’s of hours developing and perfecting and gives everything you need to become a more confident speaker in ten weeks. However, it means that you have to put in a lot of work to complete the assignments in time for your next session. This may not be suitable for you if you have a lot of other family and work commitments.

The bespoke sessions are adapted to your current situation. We will discuss, before and during sessions, how much self study you are able to do on a session to session basis. Materials such as course books, online lessons are provided and will vary based on what I think you need. If you don't have any time, all the materials will be covered in the lesson.

You will make good progress on either option. It’s just that bespoke sessions give you more flexibility.

If you choose bespoke sessions, you can have more than one session a week, if you don't have time for homework. You will also make good progress this way.

How is the English for Accountants Bespoke sessions structured?

When you sign up for  bespoke sessions, we will discuss what you need most and how much you want to do on your own. I will then suggest some course books that we can extract relevant materials from to cover what you need. We will also do speaking sessions, where you can bring me the English challenges you are having at work and we work through this and practise so that you can be more confident when at work. 

You will be able to reschedule once throughout the Interview Coaching and the Core Program. It is vitally important to have regular sessions to ensure your learning is optimised. If there are big gaps between your sessions, you lose momentum and the program becomes less effective.

You will be given all the materials you need for all options. You will receive your own copy of the worksheets and keep them all in a shared folder in Google Drive.

How is the Interview Coaching Program structured?

The Interview Coaching Program consists of six sessions with me, where I will set you tasks to do on your depending on your needs and whether you have an interview scheduled already. We will use one session to review your CV, some sessions will be tasks aimed at increasing your vocabulary. We will make a list of possible questions you could get in the interview and draft the answers. We will also look at possible questions you could ask. Then practise them together until you sound natural and confident.

How long will it take me to complete the core program?

If you have one session a week with me and complete all homework, you will have raised your English level in ten weeks. The maximum you can take is twelve weeks.
